Tuesday 19th September 2023 - Cardinal Griffin Retreat Day.

"Learning the GRIFFIN way"

We had a great day reflecting on our virtues and values, discussing how we can unite together to use all of them.
We echoed God's message that we are all created in the image of Him and have our individual roles to play and no one holds more value than another.
We developed our teamwork and communication skills during a cadet relay of activities, as well as practising patience, resilience and determination.
Year 6 are now planning to look deeper into our school mission statement and understand how our vision is shared with other schools too.

Art - Canaletto artwork

Canaletto used thick brush strokes and two layers of paint to build up his works. We loved his painting of Venice so used this as a reference point to practise his painting techniques.

Thursday 21st September 2023 - PE/History Enrichment Day

"Learning and moving"

With Ancient Greece being our history unit for this term, it was organised for us to take part in various historical activities while keeping ourselves active at the same time.

We enjoyed the matching game and practised how to work as a team.

It was lovely to end our morning with a creative session using outdoor, natural materials. Our mission was to build our own mythical creature and compose a story about them.
