Catholic Life 2020-21

We celebrated our Leavers Mass outside in the sunshine today! Well done to Year 6 who led the Mass so beautifully. It was so lovely to have Year 6’s parents join us. Many thanks to Father Jeremy for celebrating the Mass and for all his support and guidance.

Beautiful celebration of First Holy Communion for Years 3 and 4.

Well done to all the children in Year 6 who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.  Many thanks to Bishop Stephen and Father Jeremy for their support and encouragement and to all the wonderful staff who worked so hard to prepare for this very special occasion.

Many thanks to the Year 6 pupils who represented our school so beautifully at the pilgrimage Mass (20-6-21) by writing and reading the bidding prayers and participating in the offertory procession. It was a really beautiful Mass and we were so proud to be part of it. The recording of the Mass can be accessed on line from Sunday July 4th at 4 pm - when the diocesan pilgrimage should have taken place.

Well done to the children in Years 3 and 4 for taking part in the pilgrimage Mass with  Archbishop Bernard on Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Your involvement helped to make it a very special occasion. A special thank you to our Head Boy and Head Girl for leading the procession and reading the prayers so beautifully.

Father Jeremy celebrated Mass for Pentecost in school on Tuesday. Year 4 led the Mass and read and sang beautifully. The rest of the school joined in virtually. Father Jeremy taught us all how to say good morning in different languages. This reminded us of how, at Pentecost, the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and could speak in different languages enabling them to spread the Good News about Jesus. Look at Year 4”s brilliant Pentecost art work!

During the month of May Reception Class have been thinking about Mary. They made a special Altar in their classroom dedicated to Mary the Queen of Heaven.

Today we had an assembly thinking about Jesus’ ascension into heaven. Year 4 made this piece of artwork to represent Jesus’ ascension and Year 2 have also created some lovely pictures. Well done!

Father Jeremy celebrated Mass in school today in honour of Mary the Mother of Jesus. Year 5 led the Mass which was live-streamed to the rest of the school. Each child made a flower to decorate the Mary altar. Such a joyful celebration.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
