Year Three
Welcome to Year 3
Mrs Hunwick-Davy, Mrs Cox and Mrs Richardson welcome you to Year 3, and Key Stage 2.
The transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 means that the children are expected to take more responsibility for their own learning.
We encourage:
- Reading at home as often as possible, ideally every day. We will hear your child read in school once a week, through individual and guided reading sessions.
- Homework is set on a Friday and needs to be returned by the following Thursday.
This year, PE will take place on Wednesdays. Normal winter and summer kit is needed.
We are very lucky that Rock-it Music will continue music tuition on a Friday. You will be able to play lots of his instruments and learn how to play them correctly.
This year we will prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. These celebrations will take place in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with Father Jeremy celebrating with us. This is a very special time for you, your families and the local community.
Our visit to Cannock Chase Museum for a Stone Age - Iron Age day!
