Year Two Autumn Term

Year Two autumn term

Please check Google Classroom for homework/remote learning tasks and lessons

During the Autumn term, Year 2's Learning Journey has been 'Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside'. The children have developed their Geography skills, and are now able to recall different seaside locations in the UK. Through English, one area the children have developed, is their understanding of poetry, using a chosen sea creature they learnt how to compose their own shape poems. They have also used shells within Art lessons to develop their sketching skills, and in Computing, used Word Art to make their own list of seaside adjectives.

The children have also enjoyed completing some seaside activities, such as shell rubbing and designing their own ice creams. From these activities, the children worked on writing their own postcards, as if they were at Crabby Spit, the location in their class book; 'At the beach: Postcards from Crabby Spit'.
